Annie Peaker

Inspired by her love for African culture, UK ceramicist Annie Peaker captures the beauty of African women in ceramic sculptures.

Some of her figures are slightly elongated to emphasise the grace and elegance of the African female form.

Jane Eborall - Tatting

I used to think that needle tatting was a lost art. My mom was the last person I saw tatting and that was way back when I was in primary school. I recall watching her, fascinated by the instant lace that appeared from her nimble fingers as she looped and knotted with an oval-shaped thingy (shuttle) that made funny clicky sounds. Sadly, I've never learned the art - my clumsy fingers couldn't possibly handle something so delicate.
Although tatting is rarely practised today, I'm glad to learn that it has survived the test of time. There is actually a global tatting community of very talented people out there who are keeping the art alive.

Pretty well known in the tatting world is Jane Eborall who does more than your average doilies. Jane lives in England and has been tatting since the age of 13!Her blog, Tatting and Not a Lot Else, is where she shares her adorable creations.

Here are some of my favourties from her blog.
Hummingbird
Ballerina
Blue Budgie
Caterpillar
Seahorse
Chameleon
Lion
Giraffe
Hippo
Dancers

Interestingly, did you know that tatting dates back nearly 1,000 years to fishermen who wove cords into fishing nets?

72 year-old Grandpa Who Models Women's Clothes Becomes Internet Sensation

Photos of a  72 year-old grandfather from China went viral when he modelled for his granddaughter's online clothing store. The septuagenarian volunteered to model for his granddaughter who was having trouble finding a model. Standing at 5' 5"  and weighing 110 pounds, he has the perfect figure and surprised her at how well he pulled it off! Well, you gotta hand it to him - he certainly has great legs!

A cute video to share!  I'm guessing it was at a market in Taiwan.
